BREEDING SERVICE

BREEDING

COGG HILL RETRIEVERS is proud to offer the services of  an outstanding male for stud service to qualifying females.

CODY, GMPR Lime Creek's Code of Honor MH

CODY (GMPR Lime Creek's Code of Honor MH)

Cody is a nephew of Mickey and thus carries on the Treiven/Candlewood line (Twist and Shout, Gumbo/ Cruise, MD Houston).  On his sire's side of the family, Cody brings the classic British good looks of "Raider" (Rik's Risky Raider).  Raider is descended from British field trial lines, tractable, dependable, handsome dogs.  Raider is one of the most accomplished Pointing Lab sires in the country.  Not only does he carry the same superior field trial and pointing Lab lines but he adds yet another generation of Grand Master Pointing Labradors to the mix.  Here is a link to Raider.

Of all dogs I have ever been associated with or trained, Cody embodies the best of the mix.  He is extremely intelligent; he has been easy to train.  Show this fellow once and he seldom makes a mistake.  He is a superior marker in the field. I feel that he is now the equal of Mickey in marking (few dogs can ever reach that standard) and he is better at running blinds (more tractable, more willing to work as a team).  He has a calm personality.  Yet, in the field he is all business.   Finally, according to the expert, my wife, he is the sweetest dog we have ever brought into our house.

For a summary, see Cody's page here.  Cody has done the unthinkable, the incredible, in reaching his AKC Master Hunter title in ten (10) straight trials without a single failure, earning his MH title at the age of 27 months.  He achieved his Grand Master Pointing Retriever title in three straight trials (CP, MPR, GMPR) without a single failure.  He achieved his GMPR title October 15, 2005.  To top off 2005, he won the Qualifying stake in the first field trial we entered.

Cody's Pedigree

Cody's DNA Profile #:  V433252

Cody's working weight is 65 pounds.  He is approximately 21.75 inches in height.  Cody has CERFed clear on a yearly basis, he has OFA hips GOOD and elbows CLEAR. Both he and Mickey have tested clear for Centronuclear Myopathy (CNM).    Click for info on this genetic disease.  He has just been certified as EIC clear.

I am excited to offer Cody as a possible stud dog and possible sire for superior pups that both hunt like crazy and point like a pro.

The proposed female must be AKC/UKC registered and should be titled, indicating field, obedience, agility, and/or pointing accomplishments, or she should have obvious potential as demonstrated by a strong pedigree, (four-generation pedigree is available from AKC).  The female should have a valid OFA certificate, and current CERF certificate.  A recent (within 30 days of the breeding) negative brucellosis test is prerequisite to breeding. It is strongly encouraged, but not required, that owners have elbows cleared at the time hips are evaluated.
Information on OFA, CERF and CNM are available at the provided links shown above.

CoggHill Retrievers can accommodate natural breeding or supply chilled semen.  Frozen semen is no longer available.  We encourage owners to consider the chilled extended semen route if a natural breeding is not possible or if distance makes a natural breeding problematic.  Cody's chilled semen has been evaluated as being of high quality and ships well.  Mickey's AKC DNA profile registration is:V243567; Cody's DNA profile number is:V433252.
